Data Centers Near You

Data downloads

The data behind the map, as spreadsheets (CSV, UTF-8 with a byte-order mark so Excel shows accented characters and dashes correctly). Built Oct 12, 2026 from the official records described in the methodology; the files are rebuilt every morning with the map.

Each row links to its official record. The same data is also published as JSON for the map, in facilities.json, changes.json and filings.json. No personal data is included: no visitor data, no county staff names or emails, and no private landowner names.

Reusing this data

Free with credit for non-commercial use, and for news reporting. The files are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 with extra permissions:

Credit it as: Data: Data Centers Near You (https://datacentersnearyou.org/), compiled from Virginia DEQ and county records. Commercial use (resale, products, apps, APIs, alert services, consulting and industry use) needs a license: get in touch. The full terms are in the data license.

The public records behind the data belong to their publishers (Virginia DEQ, the counties, NCES and the Census Bureau), and anyone can get them from those publishers; this license covers our compilation and what we add to it. Stages and statuses are the agencies' own; anything this site calculates is marked as ours in the column notes below. Check important facts against the linked official record.
